DragonFire Racing’s Now on the NASCAR Starting Line

March 02, 2012

Here at DragonFire Racing, we’ve earned a reputation for manufacturing great UTV parts and accessories and sponsoring some of the most successful and winning drivers. In 2011, DragonFire-sponsored drivers earned series championships in both the WORCS and GNCC. Never one to settle or rest on our laurels, we’re expanding our racing resume to include NASCAR, joining up with Rick Ware Racing (RWR) in a marketing partnership that supports two top-notch stock car racers.

Yesterday, our general manager, Scott Highland, announced that stock cars driven by Nationwide Series and Spring Cup drivers Timmy Hill and Blake Koch will be carrying the DragonFire logo in 2012. And that marketing partnership starts with this weekend’s Sprint Cup competition in Phoenix — which happens to be where DFR hangs its hat.

Timmy Hill will be racing his Ford Fusion in the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix Raceway this weekend, while Blake Koch will be behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang at the Bashas Supermarkets 200, also in Phoenix this weekend.

It goes without saying that a full contingent of DragonFire personnel will be on hand to witness these two hometown races and to cheer on our drivers. Hill was Rookie of the Year for the Nationwide Series last year, edging out partner Koch by one point. Koch is returning for this, his second season in the NASCAR Nationwide series.

Hill got off to a great start at the opening Nationwide competition last year by finishing seventh at the Drive4COPD 300 in Daytona, one spot ahead of Tony Stewart (yes, that Tony Stewart), while Koch finishing 17th sandwiched between Joey Logano and Kyle Busch.

Our arrangement with Rick Ware Racing is a culmination of a lifetime relationship between Ware and Highland. As young boys growing up in Texas, these two race enthusiasts competed with each other in motocross events, and now they’re joining forces to support two up and coming stock car racers.

With only 10 fulltime employees, Rick Ware Racing is known as the “Biggest Little Team in Motorsports,” competing in a half-dozen AMA and NASCAR-sanctioned events, including NASCAR Nationwide, Camping World Truck, Grand Am, Arena Cross, XGames and Legends. For his part, Rick has taken his own impressive racing resume and created a business that DFR is honored to be aligned with.
