UTV Racers Feeling The Heat Across USA!

April 16, 2015

Team DragonFire Has A Red Hot Race Weekend

From coast to coast and everywhere in between, DragonFire racers had a busy weekend! The 2015 season is finally heating up and many of our racers finished out front. From Hans Waage, Bobby VanBeekum and Ken Benson in the wild west, to Jack's Excavating Racing in the woods back east, it was time to Feel The Heat! For years we have worked with some of the best Side-X-Side racers on the planet to help us test and develop race-worthy products. Congratulations to all of our racers, we are proud to have you representing DragonFire!

Hans Waage - Lucas Oil Regionals

Original DragonFire team driver Hans Waage brought DragonFire the Baja 250, 500 and 1000 titles back in 2009, but the fire to win still burns as brightly as ever! He put his Baja racer on a diet and he's back out mixing it up with the short course guys. Turns out he can do that too! Hans brought home a 2nd place finish on Saturday at the Lucas Oil Regionals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park and then topped the podium on Sunday, finishing 1st in the Unlimited UTV class.

Bobby VanBeekum - Lucas Oil Regionals

If you are into UTV racing, you have probably heard Bobby VanBeekum's name before. A new addition to Team DragonFire, Bobby brings his years of racing experience to the table with unmatched excitement. Bobby has been on a roll this year in his new Polaris RZR XP 1000, and this past weekend was no exception. Bobby brought home back-to-back 1st place finishes Saturday and Sunday at the Lucas Oil Regionals at Wild Horse Pass. New team, same winning ways!

Ken Benson - Lucas Oil Regionals

Long-time DragonFire racer Ken Benson has switched to a new UTV for 2015. Although he is still getting used to his Can-Am/RideNow/DragonFire/Weller Racing-backed Maverick X ds 1000, Ken is a racer through and through and is a factor for the win every time he takes to the track. Ken was able to pull off a 3rd place finish on Saturday in the Production 1000 class and 2nd place finish on Sunday! All signs point towards to a win in the very near future!

Ken Benson - SR1 Championship

Doing double time on race weekends, Ken Benson is also racing his DragonFire/Weller Racing-built SR1 this season. Always a contender, Ken is silky smooth in this 200hp monster. This is a very talented class of drivers and Ken showed everyone he is a contender by pulling off a 3rd place finish and 5th on Sunday! Ken is on track to be in the hunt for a series championship title by the end of the year.

Jack's Excavating Racing - GNCC XC1

Known for being seriously fast in woods racing and leaving a positive impression everywhere they go, the Jack's Excavating Team wasn't digging the dirt at the Big Buck GNCC this weekend. Brothers Marcus and Mouse Pratt both suffered mechanical issues on lap one after contact with a hidden stump in the XC1 class. However they dug down deep and did what they had to do to finish the race. Mouse brought home a respectable 5th, while Marcus fought on to finish 23rd.

Jack's Excavating Racing - GNCC XC2

Keeping it a family affair, the newest addition to the Jack's Excavating Racing/DragonFire team is the Pratt brothers' cousin, Joe Krcelich. Joe upheld the family honor in the XC2 class and continues to lead the pack with the season points lead after the first two rounds of GNCC. Joe battled hard all day and came across the line in 4th, padding his season points lead.
