The MINT 400 Is More Than Just A Race…

March 17, 2014

The 2014 running of the historic Mint 400 in Las Vegas clearly demonstrates that not only is off-road racing popular, but continuing to grow. With record numbers of both spectators and racers, we can confidently say The Mint is back to being the most prestigious off-road race in America. Team DragonFire had plenty of things on the to-do list during the run-up to the big race… starting with building a Can-Am Maverick racer from scratch! Weeks of late nights by master fabricator Eric Beurrier later, the wrap was literally put on the car the day before it was taken to Las Vegas to have the wraps come off.

The unveil took place on Wednesday 3/12 when Pro 1000 UTV driver Lacrecia Beurrier took the wraps off her brand new racecar and joined some of the biggest names in the sport for a nice jaunt down Las Vegas Blvd for The MINT 400 parade. Thousands of people lined the streets to see the race cars cruising The Strip.

On Thursday 3/13, Team DragonFire joined co-sponsor RideNow Powersports at their Rancho location for a pre-party dedicated to Lacrecia and her new Can-Am racecar. There were refreshments and sweet deals on all of the DragonFire products that RideNow always keeps in stock. We had a bunch of fun hanging out with the RideNow crew checking out all of the cool new UTVs and motorcycles.

Friday 3/14 was the day everyone loves to see! The world famous Fremont Street gets shut down and the off-road community takes over old Las Vegas for Tech/Contingency. Nearly 100,000 people poured into Fremont to partake in the festivities. DragonFire & RideNow had a booth next to fellow sponsor Can-Am where all the latest and greatest parts and accessories from DragonFire were on display.

Race team sponsor Mothers Polish was a huge help, donating 500 goodie bags stuffed with samples for all the people that made their way to the booth. Meanwhile Lacrecia had her DragonFire/RideNow/Can-Am sponsored Pro 1000 UTV on display and was signing autographs and taking pictures with fans and aspiring racers. There were even special edition “Race To Support The Cure” T-shirts available. Lacrecia proudly supports breast cancer awareness, so a portion of all shirt sales is donated to Cedars-Sinai to aid in breast cancer research. If you couldn't make it to the Mint, these shirts are also available on the DragonFire website.

Huge thanks go out to Can-Am for their support, as DragonFire and Lacrecia are proud to be part of such a fantastic company. If you missed the Mint, then you missed out! We are still awaiting the official results of the race, so stay tuned to see all of the high speed action of what’s known as the toughest race in North America  -- The MINT 400!
